PAC EXECUTIVE NOMINATION
*******Annual General Meeting*******
Monday May 30 - 7:00pm-8:30pm
Due to an outbreak of "Cancuckitis" the May 24th PAC meeting was post-poned to tonight.
It's time to pick the 2011/2012 PAC Executive. Please consider accepting one of the roles below, no one position is onerous but all positions need to be filled in order for the PAC to be effective during the year.
Description of Duties
President
Convenes and presides over meetings; prepares and presents agenda; appoints committee members where necessary; shall ensure that objectives are achieved; is a signing officer; submits an annual report.
Vice-President
Assumes Presidential duties when President is unavailable; is a signing officer.
Secretary
Takes minutes at meetings; keeps an accurate copy of the Constitution and Bylaws (C&B); submits changes to school board office for safekeeping; amends and copies the school board office for safekeeping; ensures that each new Executive Member and Committee chairperson receives a copy of the C&B; shall issue and receive correspondence; may be a signing officer.
Treasurer
Responsible for and reports on the accounts; shall be one of the three signing officers; prepares a financial report for publication in the school newsletter; with assistance from the Executive drafts a budget and tentative spending plan; ensures another signing officer has access to the books in the event of his/her absence; submits an annual report.
District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) Representative
Attends DPAC meetings or designates an alternative and reports back to the Exec; represents the PAC at the DPAC; votes per council wishes at the DPAC; maintains information binders with DPAC minutes and materials provided from the DPAC, BCCPAC, Ministry and makes them readily available to the general membership.
Hot Lunch Coordinators - (2 people)
Coordinates with the Principal for hot lunches through the year; distributes order sheets; compiles orders and organizes delivery and payment of food; coordinates volunteers to provide assistance; collects moneys, balances and turns over to the Treasurer ready for deposit.
Fundraising Coordinators - (2 people)
Presents fundraising ideas to the Executive; creates sub-committees to provide assistance on fundraising programs; submits collected monies to the Treasurer; ensures all monies collected are counted by two members immediately after or as close to, the fundraising activity.
Safety Coordinator
Coordinates with the Principal to report and advise on any safety issues within the school.
Celebration of Learning - (2 people)
Arranges for helpers, food and distribution of lunch for all Celebration of Learning attendees, there are 4-5 Celebration of Learning events throughout the year.
Member-At-Large
Provides help where needed and can be called upon to temporarily fill another position in the event of a prolonged absence.
