Count Down to the end of the School Year!
It's hard to believe June is almost upon us and soon summer will be here (even though Mother Nature appears to have lost her calendar). We have a few events coming up: District Track Meet, Sports Day, Parent/Teacher Lunch among others. Keep an eye out for more information.
In the meantime, the District TRACK MEET is June 3rd at McLeod Park (across from the Langley Airport) and we're looking for volunteers to help out in the concession. Seven schools participate in the meet and take turns running the concession - the school supplies the food and keeps the profit. This is an excellent way for the PAC to raise funds and doesn't require parents to open their chequebook.
Our Sports Day is June 11th and we will also have a concession that day for parents and students. Price Lists will be sent home next week.
Parent/Teacher Luncheon June 21st - parents provide lunch items and teachers provide the desserts. This is an excellent time for parents and teachers to chat and get to know each other. More details will follow later.
Send a quick email with your selections. You may sign up for more than one time slot. Once all sign up forms are submitted an email (or phone call) will be sent out giving you details about the job. Please submit your form by Tuesday June 1st.

Walk-A-Thon Update
110 students submitted pledge sheets totalling $7,540.46. A BIG thank you to all students for submitting pledges. Students will get one extra recess before the end of the year - Mr Sangha will let you know when.
A BIG Thank You, as well, to all our volunteers and our corporate sponsors for making the event a success: CAP's Bicycles sold us $750 worth of bike certificates for $600; the Murrayville Branch of the Royal Bank sent 4 volunteers, 2 walked with a class and 2 helped at the finish line dispensing water. And last, but not least, thank you to the students from DW Poppy who donated their time to the event.
Congratulations to: Matthew Ramsay, Sami Takahashi and Ashley & Cassidy Bonetti, winners of the bike certificates.
